Taking Action

The best possible choice means absolutely nothing without taking action. If you have made the choice to become wealthy you will need to behave differently. Thus, to take action means to do something.

Remember that in order to create wealth, you have to change the way you behave. Whether you believe it or not, you are where you are today because of the choices you  have made and the actions you have taken because of those choices. Your life has been the result of the choices you have made, whether consciously or unconsciously (without knowing). Accordingly, the only way you can enhance your life is to start doing things differently.

Both Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein have said that “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” So, you may ask: “What exactly should I be doing differently?” The short answer to that is almost everything. When you do things in a better way you get better results. If you have made the choice to create wealth for yourself, there are four things that you can start with:

  1. Manage your time better.
  2. Improve your existing relationships, cut them and/or create new ones.
  3. Maintain or improve your health.
  4. Become very aware of your money.

In the next few weeks I will get to the specifics of those four elements of wealth as well as what else you can start to do differently. For now, just remember that you can only create wealth in your life if you start to do things in a new and better way.

After making a choice you ALWAYS have to take action.

Why do most people fail to create wealth?

They simply do not take action. They do not DO what is required.

So the question is – what action when? Lately, the internet is full of, well, crap. Urban myths abound, and innumerable causes are sent round for our perusal and encouragement to “take up arms” against whatever cause it may be.

If I spent my time signing every petition, supporting every cause, I’d soon become a cause myself. Is it really worth my while signing a petition to stop cats from being eaten in Korea if I’m not even sure its true?

Maybe this is where selfishness is a virtue. If I take actions in my life that are beneficial to ME, as opposed to anything and anyone else (With the obvious caveat that it’s not harmful to anything or anyone else either), then I know that my life is taken care of. I know my actions will make sure I benefit – therefore, no one needs to take any action to benefit me. No one needs to burden themselves to take care of me, because I’m taken care of.

Now if I do that, and the people next to me do that, and the people next to them do that, then we are ALL taken care of to the best of our needs, and no one needs to look after anyone else. And the people who WANT to take care of others can do so for those who really cannot take care of themselves, instead of those who simply don’t want to. Or worse: those who cannot take care of themselves because they are too busy taking care of others.

So now – is it really worth your while to spend time to do actions that have NO benefit on your life? Is it really worth it to stand for a cause that has no impact on your day-to-day living?

Hi Gerry. Thanks for the comment. The bottom line remains: Take small actions in YOUR life that improves YOUR situation. Once YOU are wealthy with more than enough time and money, you can spend your time and/or money signing and supporting all the petitions you want – useful, true or not.

Unquestionably believe what you stated. I definitely get annoyed when other folks think about issues that they plainly are not aware of. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest head in this article. Other folks can benefit from this. Will probably be back to get more. Thank you!

Thank you Charlesetta. You may realise that in your first comment you spoke about beliefs, communication, you, people and your mind… They all affect each other, so it would definitely be beneficial to read those sections too. Thank you for your comments. I trust that you will grow in this exploration of wealth!
