Action Tips from Successful People

The difference between wealthy people and average people is that wealthy people, although they are afraid to do something, do it anyway.  They always take action.  They simply don’t allow themselves to be swept away by fear.  They observe, make adjustments and then grow.  They take regular and consistent action.  Let’s take a look at some action tips from successful people:

Bill Gates said that he prefers to hire people who make mistakes over those that don’t.  People who make mistakes are at least doing something and they can learn from their mistakes.  Those who don’t make any mistakes don’t learn anything new.  They will always simply keep doing what they know; attempting to avoid any mistakes and will therefore not grow.  Wealthy people will always do something new, learn from it, change it or accept it, but they will always take action to improve their current situation.

Always remember that nothing is achieved instantly.  Results are achieved one step at a time and furthermore, take time.  No house is built instantly; it starts with a plan, then a budget, then the first brick and so on.  It is not – poof – and there is your house!  You don’t become thin in a day.  You don’t become rich in a day, you don’t become wealthy in a day – it takes time – but you have to take action all the time.

It is also important to know that action speaks louder than words.  What is more impressive: Telling someone that you are about to become wealthy, or showing them what progress you have made towards your own personal wealth?  Doing something to become wealthy is far more effective than saying you are going to do something.  Bottom line: less talk, more action.

Remember, you do not become instantly wealthy just by taking action. In order to become wealthy you must first choose to become wealthy. Wealth begins with a choice. You also need to plan for your success and what you would like to achieve, by when, and how. Finally, you need to find out how much this will cost. Do not let the lack of money deter you. You will learn more about money later and money is just a component of your dream.

Look at any area of your life that requires attention and then take regular and consistent action.  Look at what you need to do, who you need to speak to and what else is required for you to make progress.  If you do not get it right, then see what you need to change and continue to take action until you have resolved whatever has been keeping you from becoming wealthy.

I learnt from a successful businessman and wealthy mentor I worked for when I returned from the US, that it is imperative to never give up, no matter what the circumstances.  He said that no matter what the circumstances, no matter what the odds, you must ‘never lie down’.  The minute you lie down the game is over.

With regards to wealth you need to know what you want to achieve with your health, the presence and quality of people in your life, the availability of your time and the abundance of your money.  Not knowing where you want to end up will take you places you do not want to go.  Most people are where they don’t want to be and don’t like it either.  But, they have neither made the choice nor taken the action to change their lives for the better.  Many of you know people like that.  In fact, some of you may be reading this right now.

You need to know what you want in order to become wealthy.  You have to take action and find out what you would specifically like to do, and then take more action to achieve it.  Usually, people fail to take action because they don’t know what they really want, and the moment they start thinking about what they want they stop because they do not have the money.  If you don’t know what you love doing then ask yourself: “If I had a million rand or if money was no object, what would I be doing?”  This question will help you think more clearly as it removes the barrier created by insufficient funds.  Once you remove the thought that you currently don’t have enough money, you will more clearly be able to define what you really want and what you want to do with your life.

Whatever you want to achieve, remember to keep on taking action. Keep on doing something. Anything is better than nothing. While taking action you will learn. When you learn you improve. When you improve you become more effective and more efficient. Effective and efficient people make more money, and will become wealthy. Wouldn’t it be great if one day someone quoted your life as an action tip from successful people?

Thank you for urging me into action because today, the very same day I read your blog for the very first time, after three days of deliberating on this matter, after six months of watching myself blow my money away, I got up from my seat, called the Accounts Manager of my bank, asked about opening another account… a savings account, left office to open the account and then left an initial deposit! Thank you so much for that article on “Paying Yourself” Thank you so so much. And I would not mind you using my testimony on your blog or facebook page. You just gave me the power to make a decision that will continually create wealth for me. Thank you again, forever and a day.

Christo thank you for urging us to action, as this is the only way one can effect change and begin to realise their dream.

      Hi Mash.

Thank you for your comment. I remember when we met and I am excited for your growth. I want to encourage you (and others) to speak and write in the first person to make your comments (and day to day communication) personal. Eg: … thank you for urging ME to action, as this is the only way I can effect change and begin to realise MY dream… Changing the way we speak changes the effect of the statement and drives us to take more action. All the best my friend, until the next car wash 🙂

What do you think?
